A bandage pipe in a polyethylene shell is a special version of a pre-insulated pipe in a polyethylene outer shell for underground trenchless installation. They are used for installation in areas with increased loads on the surface of the polyurethane foam pipeline – under highways and similar infrastructure. Such pipes are laid in steel protective casings of a larger outer diameter, which additionally protect the steel pipe from soil and transport pressure.
