SMIT is more than just a name. It is an idea to provide our customers with a full range of products and services, i.e. from professional advice on optimizing the use of products, supply of materials to the execution of all necessary installation and additional insulation work by the company’s own fitters after laying the pipes.
The corporate philosophy of SMIT “all from one source – turnkey” in combination with quality, innovative products and reliability of supply has proven itself over more than 10 years of success and as a result has ensured SMIT’s current leading position in the international market.
SMIT manufactures and supplies over 100 km of pre-insulated products annually. The products of our suppliers, as well as our finished products, are subject to strict control by internal and external quality engineers. Therefore, our products in all respects comply with the requirements of European and regional standards, as well as all applicable technical directives.
All pipeline systems are monitored by the UEC system on every centimeter of the route. The wires of the network remote operational monitoring system immediately signal any moisture penetration or a break in the network.
In the production of SMIT pipes, rigid polyurethane foam is used, which has excellent insulating properties. Absolute protection from moisture, provided by a shock-resistant and tear-resistant outer polyethylene shell, guarantees a high level of operational safety.
Various techniques for laying SMIT pipes, such as thermal pre-stressing, cold laying and connecting branches to the main line, significantly reduce installation costs, since there is no need to use various compensating elements (L-, Z- or U-shaped bends).
All SMIT products are designed for a wide range of applications, such as heating, steam, chemicals, food, oil, etc., and for temperatures that at least comply with GOST 30732-2020 and EN 253. State-of-the-art steel welding and polyethylene joint welding technologies guarantee the reliability and necessary operational safety of the products.
The manufacturing methods used, as well as the quality assurance processes and documentation, comply with the quality standard DIN EN ISO 9001.
In addition to the products, SMIT also offers a full range of different services. Professional advice at all stages of project implementation, provided by our experienced construction managers, fitters and specially trained regional sales specialists, ensures the optimal installation of SMIT products.
In addition, our technical departments carry out all necessary static calculations, which are documented when handing over the route plan. Specifications or route changes are prepared quickly and accurately, ensuring, in conjunction with the production department, that work on site runs smoothly.
Quality assurance, service, documentation
Smit Central Asia LLC has implemented a quality management system that provides for continuous monitoring at all stages of the production process. At the same time, all areas of the company’s activities are subject to the control spectrum: production and shipment, planning and design, practical application, as well as construction work and installation.
Incoming inspection
Before admission to production at the Smit Central Asia LLC plant, all incoming materials are thoroughly checked for compliance with the regulatory documents GOST 30732-2020. For this, samples are taken, which undergo appropriate tests in the plant’s laboratory.
Intermediate inspection
After completing a certain stage of work, each employee of SMIT Central Asia LLC is obliged, in accordance with the current control instructions, to check their work for compliance with quality. In addition, as part of the incoming inspection in the production process, the employees of the quality assurance department conduct and document checks and control procedures provided for by the relevant standards and directives.
Final inspection
Before delivery, all products without exception undergo a final inspection and their quality is visually confirmed by the relevant employees and quality control engineers. Only products marked with the appropriate quality control stickers are allowed to be shipped.
Construction work
As an important link in the quality control chain, construction supervision must be given the utmost attention. This is ensured by our own regional installation centers. Quality assurance measures during construction work are carried out directly by the quality assurance department of the installation department.
Other activities of the installation quality assurance department include checking the general conditions for insulation and sealing work before the actual construction work begins, as well as monitoring weather conditions.
SMIT full-time fitters are also monitored when they perform individual work. For example, for the precise identification of an individual contractor, each coupling is assigned a permanent special code number.

Scope of application of products
Our products are manufactured in accordance with GOST 30732-2006, which applies to steel and shaped products with thermal insulation made of polyurethane foam in a polyethylene shell or steel protective coating, intended for underground laying of heating networks (in a polyethylene shell – trenchless method, with a steel protective shell – in through channels and tunnels) and above-ground laying of heating networks (for pipes with a steel protective coating) with the following design parameters of the coolant: working pressure of no more than 1.6 MPa and temperature of no more than 140 ° C (temperature increase of no more than
150 ° C is allowed within the schedule of high-quality regulation of heat release 150 ° C – 70 ° C).
It is also allowed to use insulated pipes for pipelines transporting other substances (oil, gas, etc.).
